How it works

  1. Book or callDescribe the fault; call the emergency line if there is burning or sparking.
  2. TraceWe test the board and each circuit to find the cause.
  3. FixFixed price first, then the repair.
  4. TestEvery circuit tested and explained before we leave.
Electrical faults are not a do-it-yourself job. A breaker that keeps tripping is telling you something: an appliance with a fault, water getting into a socket on a balcony, an overloaded circuit, or a failing connection that is heating up behind the wall. Our electricians find the cause rather than just resetting the switch.

The visit starts with the distribution board. We test each circuit, identify which one is faulting, and work outwards to the socket, switch, light or appliance responsible. Common fixes include replacing scorched sockets and switches, repairing loose connections, replacing failed breakers and residual current devices, and separating overloaded circuits in kitchens and laundry areas.

Everything is tested before we leave, and we explain what failed in plain language. You get a fixed price before any repair starts, and the visit charge covers the first half hour of work.

In apartments, some faults sit on the building side of the meter. If the problem is in shared wiring or the supply, we will tell you so you can raise it with building management, and our notes help them act quickly.

For burning smells, sparking, smoke or a complete loss of power, switch off the main breaker if it is safe to do so and call our emergency line.

Some faults should never wait: a burning smell, scorch marks on a socket, a buzzing switch or a breaker that trips the moment you reset it. Switch off the affected circuit at the board and book an urgent visit. For everything else, from a dead socket to flickering lights, our electricians test, repair and retest the circuit, explain the cause in plain language and leave the board clearly labelled. If your board is old or overloaded, we will tell you and quote an upgrade separately.

Why breakers trip

  • Overload: too many high-power appliances on one circuit, common in kitchens.
  • Earth leakage: water in an outdoor socket or a faulty appliance trips the RCD.
  • Short circuit: damaged wiring or a failed appliance.
  • Old breaker: breakers wear out and can trip without a fault.

Unplug everything on the circuit and reset. If it holds, plug appliances back one by one to find the culprit.

Electrical safety in summer

Long AC hours and high humidity stress electrical systems. Balcony sockets without covers, extension leads behind sofas and old adaptors are the most common hazards we find. Ask your electrician for a quick safety walk-round while they are with you.

Half the sockets in the living room died at once. Vinod traced it to a loose connection behind one socket and fixed it safely. Tested everything before leaving.
